Plastic Injection Mold Technician Temp to Hire Position in Lakeville, CT 
 

Location: Lakeville, CT 
Shift: Third Shift, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM EST, Monday – Friday 
Pay: $24/hr

Our client is a leading diversified manufacturer of specialized industrial equipment, consumables, and related services.  THeir innovative products are utilized worldwide, from deep-sea oil rigs and aerospace technology to healthcare and consumer electronics.  
 
Position Summary: 
We are seeking a dedicated Injection Mold Technician to join our manufacturing facility in Lakeville, CT. This role is critical for overseeing the injection molding process, including the construction, alteration, and repair of complex molds. The technician will focus on continuous improvement of production yield and efficiency through the implementation of standard procedures, process controls, and effective troubleshooting. 

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain and operate injection molding machines, verifying setup parameters and machine conditions. 
  • Perform accurate mold setups and changeovers for both electric and hydraulic injection molding machines. 
  • Conduct quality checks in accordance with control plans, ensuring production documentation is completed before handover. 
  • Maintain setup sheets and production records for the shift. 
  • Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on equipment. 
  • Operate auxiliary equipment and manage minor maintenance tasks. 
  • Communicate effectively with previous and oncoming shifts regarding work assignments and production expectations. 
  • Collaborate with quality inspectors to monitor production accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures in compliance with ISO 9001, OSHA, and IATF 16949 standards. 

Position Requirements: 

  • Associate degree in Machine Tool or equivalent training program. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the injection molding and tooling field. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. 
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
