Kelly Services has partnered with an NGO based in Pickering to recruit for a Direct Hire Perm role for Payroll Accountant based in Pickering, Ontario

 

Responsibilities:

 

Payroll & Benefits

• Process and manage payroll using Dayforce, ensuring precision and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Accountable for the accurate and timely submission of all components of the semi-monthly payroll submission.

• Effectively contribute to the administration of the organization's RRSP program, including reviewing new enrolments, ensuring appropriate contribution rates and ensuring the accurate transfer of funds to the service provider.

General Accounting

• Responsible for the balance sheet accounts, including maintaining support schedules and analytics of financial information with the required documentation.

Prepare appropriate journal entries as required.

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.

• Prepare and review financial reports to determine trends, discrepancies and more.

Treasury Function

• Oversee banking relationships, including managing access, reviewing fees, and ensuring a strong relationship with the bank's support team.

• Act as the key resource within the finance department and the organization for all things relating to banking. Respond quickly to enquiries and requests for assistance.

• Monitor cash flow and optimize cash management.

• Prepare regular bank reconciliations.

• Assist in the annual audit by compiling and generating the required financial information and backup to support the external audit process.

 

Requirements:

  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation and proven expertise in payroll management; experience with Dayforce considered an asset.
  • 5 years' experience in a similar accounting position in a medium-sized organization.
  • Proficient user of finance software (expertise in Ceridian, QuickBooks Online Advanced an asset).
