Packaging Engineer Department: Product Engineering
Location: Bridgeton, MO (Also available in Raymond, MS)
About the Role Are you passionate about packaging design and implementation? We're seeking a Packaging Engineer for our headquarters in Bridgeton, MO, with an option to work at our Raymond, MS facility. Key Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Oversee packaging development from initial design to prototype creation and performance testing.
- Problem-Solving: Address design, material, and process issues with inventive, timely, and cost-effective solutions.
- Analyze Specifications: Review engineering drawings to determine packaging requirements, including physical characteristics and environmental concerns.
- Supplier Management: Set standards for evaluating and selecting packaging suppliers, and periodically review vendor performance.
- Project Management: Handle multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering new products.
- Cost Saving: Implement initiatives to reduce costs related to materials, labor, efficiency, transportation, and storage.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to optimize packaging designs and supply base for cost, lead time, quality, and compliance.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Design.
- Experience: 4+ years in industrial engineering or design.
- Skills:
- Proficient in 3D CAD software
- Knowledge of ISO, ASTM, and other packaging design standards
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Good communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Understanding of process and quality improvement concepts
- Rapid prototyping experience is a bonus
