ORGANIC/ORGANOMETALLIC RESEARCH ASSOCIATE

Today, Kelly Scientific is searching for an experienced Organic Research Technician to join our team at one of the largest oil, gas and petrochemical companies in the world, located in Baytown, TX.
DUTIES
- Performs advanced scientific experiments and on a daily basis utilizing the following:
- Organic/Organometallic Chemistry
- Ligand Design
- Metal Complexation
- Air-Moisture Sensitive Techniques
- Application of NMR spectroscopy
- High Throughput Experimentation
- Interfacing with advanced computer software.
- Ensures data reliability through adherence to quality objectives and develops all method support documentation.
- Calculates and analyzes data Loads data to the work order management system for review by Ph. D. Scientists and Engineers.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or related field
- Experience in synthetic organic and/ or inorganic is desired.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Capable of working independently in a dry-box or using Schlenk line techniques, and interfacing with advanced computer software.
- Advanced knowledge of various chemistry related computer software.
- Capable of safe, reliable, and independent laboratory work given review of literature, framing of problem, and regular direction.
- Ability to learn new techniques as needed.
- Ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Concern for accuracy and precision.
- Strong proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to interface with advanced computer software.
- Excellent communication written/oral and interpersonal skills.
