Kelly® Science & Clinical is seeking a part-time, remote Senior Director, Apheresis Collection Program for an ongoing, temporary position (with no end date) at a leading client in Jeffersonville, IN. Pay Rate:
~$150-250/Hour (commensurate with experience)
Overview:
Our client is launching an apheresis collection program and needs a qualified medical director to oversee the apheresis program.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 1st/Day: 5-10 Hours/Week
Responsibilities:
• Provide medical oversight for Dendreon patients undergoing leukapheresis collections at the Dendreon apheresis site. Ensuring safety and compliance to all local, state, and federal regulations throughout the patient experience.
• Review and approve SOPs to be utilized by the apheresis program to ensure compliance with all regulations.
• Participate in audits and inspections as needed.
• Review patient medical history and labs to determine ability to undergo the apheresis collection prior to the patient's first collection. Provide consult on any subsequent collections based on patient medical history changes.
• Available by phone to consult with the apheresis nurse (s) prior to, during, and after apheresis collection procedures as needed.
• Consult as needed with prescribing physicians about patients in regards to the apheresis collections procedure.
• Support internal apheresis collection processes and requirements training as required.
• Participate in Dendreon Physician and Nursing ad-boards as required.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Licensed as MD in Indiana initially.
• Certified or eligible for certification in clinical pathology and/or subspeciality certification in Blood Bank/Transfusion Medicine by the American Board of Pathology or has received a minimum of one (1) year of specialized training in blood banking or equivalent experience and training, i.e., significant additional expertise in Apheresis.
• Familiarity with MNC collections and patient qualification for leukapheresis collections.
Preferred:
• Have the ability and interest to obtain multiple MD Licenses for other states if apheresis program expands beyond Indiana.
• Familiarity with Dendreon collections requirements a plus.
