Title: Info Tech - Application Development Associate
Contract role: 12+ months
Location onsite: Dow Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Shift Schedule: 9/80 or 4/10
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Info Tech - Application Development Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage available programs and technologies to create innovative solutions to address business problems and opportunities. This role requires a deep understanding of digital tools, software applications, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize available digital programs and tools to develop innovative solutions that address business challenges and opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, maintenance and operations, to identify and implement digital solutions.
- Conduct detailed consultations with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide tailored digital solutions.
- Design and present customized product demonstrations to illustrate how digital solutions meet specific business needs.
- Provide technical support, maintenance and troubleshooting assistance for digital tools and solutions.
- Document customer interactions, feedback, and the effectiveness of proposed solutions to contribute to continuous improvement.
- Train users on the proper use of digital tools and solutions to ensure they are equipped to maximize their benefits.
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to anticipate customer needs and innovate accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent PLUS a Journeyman Certificate, OR two year degree (or higher). Study in the fields of digital literacy/IT, computing science, electrician or instrumentation is preferred. *In lieu of a Journeyman Certificate, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the specified discipline may be considered equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (i.e. IT, computer/instrumentation hardware, electrician etc.).
- Ability to safely work in a plant environment: meet light physical demands – walking, stairs & ladder use, minimal work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
Skills:
- Experience with customer-relations management systems, mobile applications, and other digital tools.
- Strong understanding of digital tools and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in providing technical support and training to users.
- Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and management systems
- Experience working with MS Office, SAP, Advanced Excel, Primavera P6, MS project.
