Job Title: Finance and Payroll Administrator- Temporary
Location: Welland, ON
Employment Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) or Part-time
Compensation: $25.00 per hour

About the Opportunity:

The Finance and Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in the handling of day-to-day activities in the Finance department. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this position is responsible for executing weekly employee payroll and performing a wide range of accounting duties to support the smooth operation of the finance department. The ideal candidate is highly reliable, detail-oriented, and maintains a high standard of confidentiality and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and sales receipts.
  • Prepare invoices and follow up on collections.
  • Input and reconcile daily and monthly receipts.
  • Prepare and reconcile WSIB remittances and CRA bi-monthly submissions.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports under the guidance of the Finance Manager.
  • Process weekly payroll and related reports.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and year-end activities.
  • Assist in audits as required.
  • Perform multiple bank reconciliations.
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.
  • Participate in financial meetings as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in accounting, payroll, and administrative duties.
  • Experience in human resources administrative support functions is an asset.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, including payroll processing and online banking.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Clear Criminal Background Check.
  • Ability to work overtime during peak periods when required.
