Field Service Engineer (Dayton, Ohio)
Kelly Engineering is working on a new Service Engineering role, Dayton, Ohio, for an industry leader in providing water and wastewater solutions to industrial and municipal customers. As a Service Technician, you'll play a critical role supporting operations and maintenance of advanced water treatment systems at a corporate location, and also customers within a 40-60 miles radius of Dayton (Travel is 30% to 60%. If you're not used to travelling this may not be the right role for you). Position is Direct Hire, an addition to staff due to growth. The ideal candidate would have 3 - 10 years minimum related experiences. Associate or a Bachelor's Degree in industrial maintenance, engineering technology, or environmental sciences is a plus.
Job Description Highlights & Responsibilities:
The position will have an office in Dayton (Vandalia), OH with a flexible hybrid work schedule including office, home office and travel (client sites / deployments, home offices and maintenance depots). The individual would need to be located within 60 miles of Dayton. Most overnights include 2, 3, or 4 consecutive weekdays; however, occasionally trips include a weekend night and less seldom extend up to 10 - 14 consecutive nights. The travel would include driving regionally and flying elsewhere throughout the US with an average 8 - 12 overnights per month.
As traveling field service technician, support industrial water and wastewater treatment systems.
Provide at deployment; onsite start-up, commissioning, training, preventative maintenance, water analysis, inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, system optimization, and reporting.
Manage and procure spares.
Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on various systems and equipment (Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and controls issues on equipment such as Valves, Air compressors, Ejectors, Process pumps, blowers, etc.).
Manage and perform overhauls, factory acceptance testing, inspections, and rebuilds to water treatment systems.
Operate, monitor, and optimize equipment performance.
Conduct maintenance and calibration activities.
Perform analytical testing such as: turbidity, hardness, chlorine, pH, CO2, O2, SDI, TOC, in addition to various other site-specific testing requirements.
As-needed, carry out mechanical, electrical and controls troubleshooting on equipment such as valves, air compressors, ejectors, process pumps, blowers, and instrumentation.
Create and maintain site paperwork, and provide customers with detailed technical summaries of work performed.
Manage and supervise various subcontractors.
Work a hybrid and flexible schedule, including home office and travel (client sites / deployments and other internal sites and maintenance depots).
Build relationships and add value to our internal and external stakeholders.
Assist with the implementation and interpretation of safety program.
Perform other tasks as directed by the service manager.
Qualifications:
Experience in the maintenance/repair of electro-mechanical equipment.
3 - 10 years minimum related experiences. An associates degree in industrial maintenance, engineering technology, or environmental sciences is a plus.
(Technical Knowledge)- Fundamentals of basic mechanics, electrical, chemistry, physics, ability to utilize, organize, and communicate well within Google Office.
Must be organized, good mechanical aptitude, problem solver and self directed.
Able to read mechanical and electrical drawings.
Computer literate, including proficiency with Google Office or similar.
Valid driver's license and the ability to rent a car required.
Ability to, and on occasion, maintain a passport and travel within the Americas on occasion.
Perform chemical cleanings and wear appropriate PPE.
Climb a ladder and perform elevated work and in a safe manner.
Enter, inspect, and work in a confined space.

You will be directly working with sand ballasted clarification, high rate filtration, ultrafiltration, reverse osmosis, ion exchange processes, and specialty chemicals (coagulants, flocculants, and CIP cleaners, and much more...).
