Chemical Process Operator – Ringwood, IL

Kelly Project Services, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc., is currently seeking a Chemical Process Operator for a long-term engagement at one of our Global clients in Ringwood, IL. This role is a full-time, fully benefitted position.

Title: Chemical Process Operator
Location: Ringwood (60072)
Hours: 3-2-2 schedule 7am-7pm for 8 months, 7pm-7am for 4 months
Pay: $25 hr; plus benefits and PTO
Duration: long term

Job Responsibilities:

  • Operation of batch reactors, distillation columns, continuous process equipment.
  • Operation of waste evaporation equipment; handling of hazardous and non-hazardous materials and waste.
  • Filtering and screening.
  • Loading and blending of wet or dry materials. Pumping.
  • Operation of computerized control system of process.
  • Cleaning reactor and kettle.  
  • Drumming of finished liquid product in to tank cars, tank truck, totes, 55 gal. drums, 5 gal. pails, and various size bottles and cans.
  • Packaging and palletizing solid products in bags and/or drums ranging in size from 50 lbs. to 2200 lbs.
  • Performing general housekeeping duties.  
  • Hand and Forklift truck operation.
  • Sampling of raw materials and/or finished good.  
  • Recording of batch variables and logging data both manually and into the SAP computer system.  
  • Performing all work safely and injury-free.
  • Must actively participate in improving department and plant safety performance.
  • Must attend and participate in Ringwood Plant Programs/Committees/Training as required, such as Department Safety, Central Safety, Behavioral Safety, Ringwood Safety Journey, Housekeeping Audit Teams, ISD, etc.
  • Follow the Procedure Use Policy. Use SAP/NEA and WebEDMS
  • Use Logbook as per Dow requirements.
  • Comply with Document Management System.
  • Respect and Follow Life Critical Standards.
  • Participate on RCI s/5Why s.
  • Do verbal/face to face turnover.
  • Write Work Orders.
  • Participate on Projects Kaizen and Engineering.
  • Other duties as requested by management.
  • Notify supervision of all injuries, illnesses, spills and other safety incidents immediately.
  • Successfully complete all required EH S Training.
Requirements:
  • Must be 18 and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator—cannot have facial hair around the sealing surface.
  • Must be able to lift and handle 55 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and able to be on feet for most of the day.
  • Must have experience or be able to learn to operate Forklifts and Pallet Jacks.
