Kelly Science and Clinical is seeking an Application Scientist; Technical Design to join a growing company located in Boston, MA. This position is REMOTE but requires the ability to travel up to 30% with somewhat regular visits to company headquarters in CA.
Salary: $102,000-116,000/year depending on experience

Summary:
The Application Scientist, Technical Design, is a client-facing subject matter expert who provides tailored solutions to grow the companies mRNA services. The role involves working within a cross-functional team including sales, marketing, R&D, manufacturing, and analytical teams. Success in this dynamic environment requires applying technical expertise to develop creative customer solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business Development and Sales teams to enhance the customer journey by offering technical support and understanding customer needs during pre-sale activities. This includes the companies custom discovery services in mRNA manufacturing, analytical testing, and related products.
- Guide and support customers from the early stages of discovery onwards.
- Represent the company in a scientific capacity at conferences, seminars, and webinars alongside the R&D team.
- Act as a bridge between customers and internal teams to generate accurate quotes, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), High-Level Estimates (HLEs), Proposals, and Statements of Work (SOWs) tailored to client-specific technical requirements.
- Communicate the Voice of Customer (VOC) to internal teams to help drive business focus and foster innovation.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest technological advancements, industry trends, and innovations in RNA health.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genomics or a biological related field
- 4+ years of extensive technical experience with nucleic acid laboratory techniques in a biotech or pharmaceutical industry setting. ( An advanced degree may act as a substitution for years of experience)
- Preferred experience in R&D, Process Development, and/or QC directly in mRNA.
- Advanced understanding of molecular biology and mRNA/nucleic acid therapeutic applications, including manufacturing and analytical methods.
- Demonstrated experience communicating with clients and working with Business Development, Marketing and/or Sales in Life Sciences required.
- GMP manufacturing experience is a plus.
