Kelly Education is partnering with Texas Christian University (TCU) to find a motivated, self-directed Study Hall Monitor to support their student-athletes.

The role of a Study Hall Monitor.

  • Oversee student-athletes in a study hall environment.
  • Maintain appropriate study hall environment by enforcing rules and guidelines.
  • Take necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities.
  • Track student-athlete attendance, facility issues, and/or concerns to staff.
  • The candidate chosen for this role will be an authority figure during study hall hours and is expected to enforce all rules set forth by the Athletics Academic Services Office and NCAA.

Specific information about the Texas Christian University / Kelly® Education Study Hall Monitor role.
  • Pay Range: $12 - $14/hour
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Schedule: Mondays through Thursdays 5pm – 10pm and Sundays 2pm – 10pm
  • This position does not work during the summer months (beginning of May through mid-August), Thanksgiving week, Winter Break (3 weeks) and Spring Break due to the University being closed during these time-frames.
     
Job Responsibilities
  • Ensures study hall is open at posted hours and ready for use [furnishings clean and usable, sign in and/or other checklists updated, etc.]
  • Oversee all student-athletes in study hall and maintain a productive study hall environment
  • Maintain accurate attendance records in the computer tracking system
  • Monitor academic sessions taking place in the centers
  • Maintain a clean and orderly area by pushing in chairs, straightening furniture and computer equipment; and removing garbage
  • Enforce study hall rules and follow proper protocol to report incidents
  • Communicate regularly with the Administrative Assistant for Athletics staff
  • Implement necessary fire, safety, and evacuation protocols
  • Secure building and facility space upon opening and closing hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Previous experience handling office responsibilities and experience in customer service
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Highly organized multitasker
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Solid time management skills; able to prioritize

Preferred qualifications.
  • Associates Degree or higher
  • 2 years of experience working within K-12 or higher education
