1st shift Direct Hire Machinist 
Location: Canastota, NY
Pay Range: $21 - $24 per hour, dependent upon experience
Hours: 7a-4pm Monday to Friday

Position Summary:
Kelly is seeking a skilled Machinist to assist in completing engineering and machining projects. This role will involve reading and interpreting blueprints, as well as operating various manual and CNC machinery to create necessary tools. The Machinist will also assist in the preventative maintenance of machine parts to ensure the longevity and efficiency of equipment.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret detailed drawings, blueprints, sketches, and CAD/CAM files.
• Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and CNC machine tools.
• Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces for optimal performance.
• Monitor machine feed rates and speeds to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, shaping, and grinding on machine parts to meet specifications.
• Verify that finished products meet quality and design requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of relevant on-the-job training or post-secondary training in machining.
• Ability to interpret technical blueprints, models, and specifications.
• Strong manual dexterity and precision skills, capable of working to tolerances within .0001 of an inch.
• Mechanical experience with operating milling machines, lathes, and grinders.
• Knowledge of metalworking processes and proficiency in using precision measuring tools.

Success Factors:

• Previous metalworking experience.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Welding certification is a plus.
• CNC experience is preferred.
