The Supervisor Talent Acquisition leads a team of recruiters responsible for executing the full recruitment cycle for critical areas assigned to them within our health system. This includes the posting of job requisitions, developing and implementing effective talent sourcing strategies, assessing and selecting candidates, negotiating offers, and facilitating the completion of new hire, transfer, and promotion processes. While managing requisitions and clients assigned to them, this leadership position serves as mentor, trainer and first point of issue escalation for their team. Key responsibilities include driving team productivity, enhancing performance, and fostering a culture of continuous process improvement to ensure a high quality and consistent output. The Supervisor must be able to thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple projects and maintaining attention to detail. They must be experienced at promoting high levels of customer service and cultivating robust relationships with their clients, HR colleagues, candidates, and staff at all levels, including senior leadership. Additionally, the Supervisor is responsible for training, coaching, counseling their team members as well as conducting their annual performance reviews and supporting their professional growth.
Essential Duties:
- Supervises a team of recruiters and their workflow while managing a regular requisition workload and demonstrating expertise in all the responsibilities of a Senior Recruiter, including: • Managing and leading full-cycle recruitment process at all levels, including senior and executive leader positions. • Developing and implementing comprehensive talent sourcing strategies to attract active and passive candidates. • Conducting interviews and providing recommendations for hiring decisions. • Demonstrating working knowledge and facilitating resolution of issues that arise from concerns of interest in any policy, procedure, program, or benefits. • Conducting research and investigation for any labor and/or employee relations issues/grievances. • Performing salary analysis and providing a recommended salary based on years of experience and external market data/competitiveness, while maintaining internal equity. • Ensuring entire pre-employment screening process is complete and clearing all his/her new hires prior to onboarding. • Posting on additional sites as needed and working with HSC Marketing and/or advertising agencies in ad placement or development of creative design per approved department/facility protocol. • Assisting with research of, preparation for, and attends job fairs as needed. • Preparing special reports, charts and spreadsheets upon request. • Assisting in the development of relationships with affiliated schools and associations. • Delivering and negotiating offers of employment. • Partnering with HR Business Center to ensure clean new hire hand-offs and an excellent candidate experience.
- Serves as the subject matter expert in the processing of job requisitions, new hires, transfers, promotions, and other talent related transactions and processes.
- Serves as the go-to for the recruiters on elevated matters related to the Talent Acquisition processes.
- Serves as the point of contact for escalated issues with hiring managers, HR partners, senior leaders, or Talent Acquisition Management.
- Leverages available workforce planning inputs to plan the work distribution and to ensure the recruitment team is staffed appropriately to handle peaks/spikes in business.
- Responsible for managing performance and productivity of their team while pursuing continuous process improvement.
- Works closely with his/her HR colleagues on special projects.
- Prepares and/or presents special reports, charts, and spreadsheets upon request.
- Responsible for training, coaching, counseling and conducting the annual reviews of staff.

Required Qualifications:
- Req High School or equivalent High School Diploma or GED required.
- Req 5 years Experience in recruitment or talent acquisition
- Req 2 years Experience in a health care industry.
- Req Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.
- Req Proficient analytical thinking and problem-solving skills is required.
- Req Strong verbal and written communication skills. Capable of communicating with all levels of employees, including management.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Bachelor's Degree Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Pref Related graduate study Human Resources Management or a related field.
- Pref 2 years Experience in supervisory role in Recruitment, Recruitment Operations, or Human Resources administration.
- Pref Experience with Workday or other cloud based HRIS/Applicant Tracking System is preferred.
- Pref Professional in Human Resources - PHR HR Certification.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
