Description


To develop and implement physical therapy services and direct patient care in coordination with the inter-disciplinary team and in compliance with organizational goals and appropriate regulatory agencies. Under the supervision of the PT Director, provides physical therapy care to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses. Major duties include consistently performing accurate patient evaluation, treatment planning for effective patient outcomes, problem resolution, patient care documentation, maintenance of an appropriate level of productivity, participation in performance improvement activities, program development and participation in team building. Presents in-services to therapy staff and other department members, leads site Physical Therapists and Physical Therapy Aides, provides orientation to new staff. Fosters a team environment between the physicians and staff; provides the staff with ongoing education regarding changes in the health care environment and its impact on patient care delivery. Leads other areas/departments/projects as assigned by the designated PT Director/ or administrative team member.

Essential Duties:

  • Effectively manages a full patient caseload, which includes all aspects of patient care, documentation, and communication, and assists in meeting departmental efficiency requirements.
  • Leads and participates in clinic patient care responsibilities.
  • Provides education and makes recommendation to other healthcare professionals on the team regarding patient care plans.
  • Serves as a clinical instructor for physical therapy interns.
  • Assumes responsibility as the PT Lead in assigned clinics and coordinates all aspects of communication to and from physician and therapist.
  • Effectively manage last minute scheduling changes and prioritizing.
  • Efficiently utilizes unscheduled non –productive time (i.e. Patient not available, outpatient cancellation, etc.) and improves department efficiency (ie. Assists other staff, projects, other documentation), while still maintaining a full caseload.
  • Provides effective patient care in a variety of PT disciplines/settings (i.e. Acute, outpatient, ortho, hand, cardiac, wound care and outpatient neuro).
  • Assumes staffing of site and patient care delivery as the Lead PT.
  • Provides formal education to internal or external departments (i.e.-therapy department, outpatient-surgery, residents, etc.).
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Master's degree Masters in Physical Therapy
  • Req 3-5 years Experience as PT (preferably in a healthcare setting).
  • Req Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, and mature and sound judgment.
  • Req Current knowledge of treatment practices.
  • Req Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Req Demonstrated continuing education with evidence of clinical application, program development and implementation, and other professional accomplishments.
  • Req Successfully conducted staff educational offerings
  • Req Attended continuing education courses, > 24hours within the past 3-5 years
  • Req Consistently demonstrates intermediate clinical evaluation and treatment skills in applicable areas of clinical practice
  • Req Demonstrated teaching skills of staff, students, peers, and others

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pref Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate preferred PhD or clinical doctorate
  • Pref Board Certified Board certification in a physical therapy specialty is preferred

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Physical Therapist Current License to practice Physical Therapy in Nevada Must obtain USC Credentialing from governing board within 6 months of hire
  • Req National Provider Identifier (NPI) Must have current and valid National Provider Identifier Number (NPI)
  • Req Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider from American Heart Association

The annual base salary range for this position is $110,240.00 - $181,896.00.
