The goal of the Kamehameha Schools' Endowment is to support current spending needs while growing capacity to educate future learners. Kamehameha Schools is looking for an Investment Management Intern for summer of 2025. This internship will run from early June 2025 to early August 2025. The work hours will be 40 hours per week and on-site at our SALT at Kaka'ako location in Honolulu. The pay rate for this internship will be $27/hr.

Our ideal candidate is a college student entering their Junior or Senior year (or graduating in 2025), majoring in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related fields, with a strong interest in investing.

This chosen intern will get to participate in the Endowment Management Investment Fellowship (EMIF) program, that involves attending courses & presentations by top industry leaders, as well as gain hands-on experience with our Investment Management Group (IMG), and the Internship will culminate in a research presentation.

Job Summary

Interns are responsible for adhering to the program parameters of an internship plan for the Investment Management Group. The intern will gain hands-on experience in investment management and operations and participate in the Endowment Management Investment Fellowship (EMIF) program.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Participate in the Endowment Management Investment Fellowship (8-weeks).
  • Assist the investment team in researching potential opportunities across venture capital, private equity, long-only global equity, hedge funds, and real assets.
  • Analyze financial data, market trends, and industry reports to support investment and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with team members to prepare investment memos and presentations.
  • Participate in due diligence efforts for both investment and operational activities.
  • Contribute to portfolio performance monitoring and analysis.
  • Lead a research project that concludes with a presentation.
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.

  • Currently enrolled as a Sophomore or Junior in a post-secondary education program.
  • Strong interest in finance, investments, and asset management.
  • Analytical mindset to interpret financial data for investment and operational insights.
  • Excellent communication skills for team discussions and producing clear reports.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Able to attend and participate in the 3-day EMIF seminar.
  • Able to attend all Manager Speaker Series and Thursday Forums hosted during the summer fellowship.
  • Able to attend the Final Presentation Day and make a final presentation.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.
  • Travel may be required.
