Job Summary:
Responsible for supporting the scientific, technical, managerial and regulatory aspects of Clinical Cytogenetics; responsible for the assessment, development, refinement and implementation of laboratory testing. Interfaces with Laboratory Management, Clinicians, Technical Staff. Participates in professional activities including publishing, presenting and educating.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Participates in reviewing and signing of test reports.
- Consults with clinical staff regarding test results.
- Consults with clinical staff regarding appropriate test utilization.
- Develops, refines and implements laboratory testing procedures.
- Evaluates and recommends emerging procedures, protocols and diagnostic tests.
- Provides education to technical staff, students, clinical staff.
- Presents papers, posters at professional meetings.
- Publishes papers/reports in peer literature.
- Prepares information, data and reports for integration into management decisions.
Basic Qualifications: Experience

- Doctorate in human genetics or related field.
- N/A
- Postdoctoral Cytogenetics Laboratory experience.
- Previous experience in a Diagnostic Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory.
- Demonstrated experience in hematological, routine, prenatal, and molecular cytogenetics; strong communication skills.
- Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
