    Certification Details
  • Certifications: ACLS and BCLS; NIH Preferred
  • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
    Job Details
  • IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a $3.00 bill rate bump per hour
  • Local rate rule: $15 off the BR. ICU, PCU and M/S Peds and Adult RNs residing in the state of Indiana are considered local and will be accepted at the local rate.
  • First Time Travelers Accepted
  • Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
  • Weekends: Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
  • Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
    Job Requirements
  • ACLS and BCLS; NIH Preferred
  • Minimum 2 Year Experience
  • Telemetry – on unit monitoring
  • IV insulin protocols and Tirtration of insulin drips
  • Feeding tube care and management
  • Pre/post hemodialysis management
  • Blood product administration
  • Monitoring Chemotherapy
  • Heparin protocols
  • Manage cardia drips – no titration
  • External CPA/BiPAP
  • High Flow Nasal Cannula
  • Isolation Precautions
  • Staffing Ratios: 1:4
    Schedule Information
  • Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12
  • If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract
  • If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
  • Travelers are expected to work every other week per their contract. Pending operational needs, consecutive weekends may be needed based on the greatest need
  • Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
    Unit Specific Information
  • Unit Information: Medical PCU - almost ICU level acuity - multiple cardiac drips. Stable vents. Multi-organ failure, liver failure, pulmonary
  • Effective 9/1, the COVID vaccine is required for all travelers at IU Health campuses. Declinations will not be accepted; however medical or religious exemptions will be accepted with a doctor's note provided.
