What are we looking for?

The Senior Technician is responsible for supporting the Building & Construction business by managing larger scale mock-up projects as well as various fenestration related programs.  We're looking for a technically inclined candidate who will follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies while providing exceptional customer service.

What you'll do:

  • Set up test apparatus and operate equipment
  • Maintain equipment and facilities
  • Prepare test samples/structures
  • Obtain and record test data in accordance with standards
  • Perform basic analysis of test data and routine calculations
  • Extract and compile engineering data and draft technical reports
  • Prepare project files for compliance with operating procedures
  • Make recommendations regarding technical decisions relating to the interpretation and applicability of test standards
  • Communicate with clients and management
  • Perform other work as required

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of construction related experience
  • Ability to lead personnel to achieve expected results
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklift, aerial work platforms, telehandler, etc.) equipment and various hand tools
  • Ability to weld and/or learn on the job to become proficient in metal fabrication and erection
  • Ability to review, understand and convey technical information in an effective manner
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings, and build walls/assemblies per the construction documentation
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills, in both verbal and written formats
  • Microsoft Office software expertise, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Physical ability to routinely lift at least 50 pounds
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, crouch, bend, climb stairs and ladders, push, pull etc. as required to perform duties
  • Ability to travel (10 - 15%)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record is required
