Laboratory Analyst I

What are we looking for?

The Entry Level Laboratory Analyst is primarily responsible for sample processing and preparation, laboratory analysis, reporting, and quality control activities.

Shift/Schedule: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, Typically 10am-6pm

What you'll do:

  • Sample Processing and Preparation
  • Utilization of a LIMS for data entry and reporting
  • QA/QC activities including but not limited to validations, following SOPs, calibrations, proficiency testing, and ensuring accreditation compliance
  • Laboratory analysis
  • Operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, including a microscope
  • Reporting and client communication
  • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of laboratory area

This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all encompassing details. The position assumes that the incumbent has both the mental and physical requirements to carry out the above defined duties.  

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, chemistry, biology, forensic science or similar degree
  • 1+ years of laboratory experience
  • Ability to work and prioritize effectively in a commercial laboratory setting
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, integrity

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Geology Degree strongly preferred
  • Strongly prefer 1+ year of professional experience but will consider college/research experience
  • Environmental laboratory experience
  • Microscopy experience and/or familiarity with minerology
