Intelsat US LLC seeks a Senior Data Engineer in Chicago, IL.

Duties: Develop and implement rigorous data analysis and design methodology consistently yielding right level of technical design documentation that conform both to consumer requirements and information development standards. Duties include: Analyze data and create technical documents to ingest and integrate data into Unified Data Platform; design, document, and support a platform that can provide access to large datasets; collaborate with data engineers, quality engineers, BI developers, and data analysts to establish optimal data analysis and design which properly serves technical teams and our user community; facilitate risk management to identify risks, tradeoffs, and investment decisions; define and document the use cases and product requirements that will determine the success of the solution; translate high-level business requirements into detailed business requirements and mapping to required technical specifications; deliver documentation for data flow specifications, process diagrams, and other models to clarify the desired solutions; work with team leads, collaboratively using JIRA, to help prioritize stories, tasks and their dependencies to ensure a smooth agile process; develop test plans, write and execute test cases, and report defects to ensure that solutions implemented meet requirements and are both of high quality and operationally sustainable; and gather and communicate project expectations to multiple stakeholders. Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

Alternatively, a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

Requires three (3) years of experience in each of the following: Business analysis, and delivering analysis solutions and documentation in developing integrated data solutions; Cloud based big data solutions: AWS and Snowflake; Working with data tools: Tableau Prep, or Jupiter notebooks; Programming languages: Python, or SQL; Working with unstructured and semi-structured data; Data streaming, API's and snowflake data sharing; and Data analysis, writing, and developing complex queries using SQL.
