Exciting opportunity to join our fabulous Outpatient Pulmonary Rehab Team as a Respiratory Therapist!! This is a full-time opportunity with an outstanding benefits package. The Respiratory Therapist works on a multidisciplinary team to care for patients and develop comprehensive care plans of agreed upon goals. Includes evaluating patient responses to prescribed treatment plans, testing and procedures and developing ongoing plans.

Requirements for consideration:
- Graduate of an accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory care program.
- Two years' experience in a critical care environment
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) + One of the following (ACLS, PALS or NRP).
- Minimum one additional from the following: - Additional Certification (ACLS, PALS, or NRP)
- Advanced Credential (ACCS, AEC, NPS, RPFT, CPFT or SDS)
- Relevant bachelor's degree
- Specialized certification (AEC, COPD, SCC, etc.) relevant to department operations

- Basic Life Support from AHA upon hire
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Respiratory Therapist.
Knowledge Skills and Capabilities:
- Participation on two quality/process improvement projects using Lean Methodology (A3). Participation in committees. Preceptor. Professional Membership.
- Cross trained and functional in other departmental operations (i.e., clinical skills, critical thinking skills, preceptor and relief charge skills, quality assurance skills:
Job Responsibilities:
- Develops exercise prescription and risk factor modification by incorporating comorbidity and musculoskeletal disorders, per established program (ACCVPR, ACSM, ATS, ACC, NASM) standards and guidelines, as evidenced by random chart review.
- Develops Individual Treatment Plans through physical assessment and testing to include exercise and strength training programs, patient education and behavioral health support specific to each patient to achieve optimal outcomes for each patient.
- Provide multimodal patient education for patients based on individual treatment plan
- Demonstrates proper instruction and technique for performing appropriate exercise and strength training as needed to ensure patient safety and adherence to exercise prescription, as evidenced by direct observation.
- Immediately reports significant changes in patient clinical status to appropriate members of healthcare team and assists with emergency care according to department policy, as evidenced by direct observation.
- Completes patient assessments for disease specific risk factors and clinical needs which may impact the Individual Treatment Plan, as evidenced by random chart review.
- Provides validation of clinical decisions for other team members.
- Supports and engages in clinical outcomes and quality improvement initiatives.
- Utilizes standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery.
- Supports process for delivery of care from direct patient and family communication, technology, and other healthcare team member collaboration.
- Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.
