• Must Have Skills/Experience: • BLS/ACLS • IV Medicated gtts • Tracheostomy experience • Ventilator, bipap, cpcp, high flow oxygen delivery devices • Unit performs their own phlebotomy and IV sticks • Preferred Skillset/Experience: • NIHSS cert recommended • ICU/Critical Care experience recommended • Type of Patients on Unit: • Personality Fit: •Personality fit for MPCU includes the ability to care for chronic trach/vend dependent patients, neuro-surgical patients, noncomplicated back surgeries, VP shunts, and stable subdural hematoma patients. Other patient populations include post-drips, GI bleed, ETOH withdrawal, suicidal and behavioral/substance abuse patients. Renal dialysis patients, emergent situations requiring assisting with intubations of unstable patients (which will move to a higher level of care. Other unit procedures include chest tube placement, IV insertion, blood transfusions, and bedside bronchoscopy.
