BASIC FUNCTION This position is responsible for preparing complex documents, agreements and pleadings related to litigation and regulatory matters; interfacing with internal business partners and outside counsel on regulatory examinations and litigation to research and gather responsive materials; responding to third party discovery request. Has a thorough understanding of best practices for document collections and production and an awareness all other aspects of the legal department's work and its context in the organization as a whole. NOTE: this role is hybrid/flex and requires in-office visibility three days per week, working from home the other two days. Sponsorship is not available either now or in the future; relocation assistance will not be offered.JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal department OR Paralegal Certification and 4 years' experience in a law firm or corporate legal department OR 6 years of direct experience in a law firm or corporate legal department performing the functions of a Paralegal
- Knowledge of judicial system, court procedures, HCSC corporate policies, procedures, and company operations
- Detail and deadline orientation with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and move amongst tasks and changing priorities
- Advanced PC proficiency to include Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational, analytical, resourcefulness, judgment, and problem solving skills
- Ability to translate technical requirements into understandable guidance
- Team player
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Hands-on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
- Understanding of Medicare or healthcare insurance industry
- Experience in large law firm(s)
