This position is responsible for the statewide direction and oversight of community programs, strategic development and community investment programs. Direct the development and accountable for charitable sponsorships and grants programs plus the development and deployment of the volunteer programs throughout the state. Act as company representative to charitable organizations, foundations and civic organizations.

Job Responsibilities:

1.       Responsible for statewide direction and control of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility program. Working with the President to research, analyze and develop program that will make community support a planned, strategic activity. Allocate and monitor charitable contributions, sponsorships and major grants. Analyze effectiveness and determine level of success.
2. Identify, establish, develop and maintain professional relationships with external foundations, charitable organizations and community and civic leaders to obtain high-profile, strategic opportunities that further the HCSC mission and objectives—including strategic placement of executive leadership in high-level community and civic activities. Track and analyze trends and issues which affect the local community.
3. Responsible for control of annual budgets and analyzing ROI of charitable contributions, sponsorships and major grants.
4. Responsible for the follow-up and monitoring of HCSC major grants and donations to assure funds are used for intended purposes.
5. Responsible for oversight of the employee charitable giving campaign and the United Way internal campaign operations budgets.
6. Responsible for tracking and reporting the Corporate Social Responsibility program, including presenting quarterly reports at Affiliate Board meetings.
7. Take leadership role in representing Blue Cross and Blue Shield in community activities and serving on community non-profit and civic boards.
8. Responsible for direction and control of employee volunteer Blue Corps program.
9. Manage personnel which includes but is not limited to hiring, performance evaluations, pay administration, mentoring/training, professional development and change management.
10. Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, customers, etc.
11. Comply with HIPAA, Diversity Principles, Corporate Integrity, Compliance Program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.
12. Maintain complete confidentiality of company business.
13. Maintain communication with management regarding development within areas of assigned responsibilities and perform special projects as required or requested.

14. Responsible for creating the program strategy, fundraising, managing and oversight of the The Caring Foundation of Texas, including development of board agenda and facilitating the board meeting twice year.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor Degree in business, communications, marketing, public relations or related degree.
* 8 years community relations experience including managing outreach programs.
* 5 years management experience.
* Leadership skills.
* Analytical skills and financial acumen.
* PC proficiency including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
* Verbal and written communications skills including working across departments and interfacing with management or executive personnel.

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* Experience with oversight of management personnel.
* Experience with community investment programs.
* Experience with successful interactions and relations with all levels and personalities.
