Description

The Merchandising Sample Specialist is responsible for managing multiple samples used for Email/Merchant Requested photoshoots and in the Signature Store. This role facilitates the handling, organizing and maintaining of our merchandising samples in support of photo/video shoots, Merchant sample review, setup of packaging dielines, and coordinating Packaging/Label/Sample review.

In this role, the Merchandising Sample Specialist builds strong working relationships with multiple cross-functional teams to successfully track, validate, assemble, return and organize samples in merchant sample holding area. The Merchandising Sample Specialist monitors sample reports and communicates with cross functional teams on a regular basis, as well as provide updates on the sample holding area and timing of samples received.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Process and track product samples using our Workfront project management system.         
  • Organize daily product sample intake, unpack and assemble samples as well as repack and return to in-house sample holding area.          
  • Publish weekly report and work with business partners to source missing samples; track and resolve sample issues.      
  • Organize and maintain the in-house sample area with the ability to easily and quickly locate samples.           
  • Track samples for multiple teams, multiple shoots and ensure sample-related milestones are met on time.          
  • Prepare and assemble samples to be photo ready, removing tags, dirt marks or other blemishes, printing and adding Branding Labels based on Label Placement Maps.             
  • Support department workload by assisting with Merchant or Space Planner with samples.         
  • May help with the pack, ship, and/or deliver product to shoot locations within established timeline.        
  • May help pick up ad hoc marketing materials for merchant team.         
  • Attend and participate in weekly planning meeting with current sample status.       
  • Daily communication with their supervisor on priorities is required.    
  • Regular attendance is required.

Requirements

Education and Experience

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus

Years of Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sample handling within a retail environment preferred

Skills
  • Experience (Required) -
  • Skills (Required) - Proficiency in PC and Mac OS platforms, Microsoft Word/Excel
  • Experience using Workfront is strongly preferred
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast pace environment
  • Flexible team-player who also works well independently
  • Proactive and quick learner with a positive attitude towards his/her work
