Description
The Director of Data Integrations is responsible for the modernization and transformation of Harbor Freights ETL applications, teams, and technology. This includes partnering with senior IT leadership to identify and deliver the appropriate solutions in support of the strategic company goals, while ensuring operational excellence for data integrations.
Core duties include responsibility for ensuring all ETL solutions are operated, developed, tested, implemented and managed in a manner that meets or exceeds established service-level targets, change-management and IT-governance standards. This role requires working cross-functionally throughout multiple levels of the organization, and working closely with business leaders, business sponsors, and subject matter experts to ensure proper integration architecture and execution.
As a trusted custodian to the Company's sensitive information and/or systems this position will be expected to maintain professional conduct and protect the confidentiality of any information to which it may have access. This position is expected to uphold the highest standards of moral and business ethics.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Transformation and modernization of the ETL team‘s ways of working.
- Lead modernization (and replacement) efforts surrounding legacy data platforms and data-integration. This includes providing leadership and mentoring for business requirement review, development of new functionality for business applications as well as maintenance of existing data platforms.
- Improve operational excellence by determining key operational tasks, goals and metrics for the Data Operations team, and tracking progress start-to-completion
- Document and enforce architectural standards, high-level project planning and management, task identification, and cost estimates
- Participate in architectural planning, design and development responsibilities for new and/or modernized data systems.
- Engage in performance monitoring within data systems landscape and future capacity-planning (replace/retire), new/modernized database systems
- Direct, train, and manage the staff supporting Data Operations including creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Track and report on team operations and project status progress across multiple initiatives
- Proactively seek and share information about relevant aspects of database architecture, critical business applications and process/integration solutions with business and IT stakeholders
- Review and identify gaps and deficiencies in business requirements, technical specifications, designs and testing documentation for completeness and testability
- Lead data operations solution-planning and drive a culture of data informed (fact-based) decision making.
- Collaborate with other areas and leadership team within IT and our business to identify and improve IT and business processes
- Drive and participate in Architecture Review, Change Management Process and Software Development Life Cycle process (SDLC) to ensure quality is infused into all business solutions.

Education and Experience
Education Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Systems or Business Information Systems
- 10+ years in the Information Technology industry with hands on experience in a variety of ETL and iPAAS tools (Informatica,Boomi, Workato, Mulesoft, etc).
- Possess comprehensive business and technical knowledge as well as organizational skills to oversee complex projects with high visibility and high impact to the business. Experience modernizing legacy systems, creating long term roadmaps, and managing complex multi-year programs
- Experience supporting large database systems around Saas, On-Prem Client Server and batch processing applications
- Thorough understanding of modern database systems, techniques, methodologies, processes, procedures and measurement for large, complex initiatives
- Proven ability to build, lead and mentor a team
- Advanced Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) experience, including agile and waterfall methods
- Knowledge of database metrics, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and other test metrics and reporting methods
- Perform a variety of complicated tasks while leading/directing the work of others.
- Adaptable personality with the ability to deal with ambiguity and provide new ideas and process improvements.
- Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures.
