This position assists the Clinical Manager in the administration, supervision, and development of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department. Gathers and maintains statistics. Oversees counseling staff that serve the high school students to insure clinical goals and objectives are met. Maintains a sound professional philosophy and high standards of participant care. Assists in the support functions that are monitored CARF, JCAHO, and other regulatory agency standards.

Knowledge, Education and Skills Required:

  • Masters Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling or related field from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a rehabilitation setting.
  • Possesses current knowledge of best practices in the habilitation and rehabilitation of the individuals across the spectrum of disabling conditions referred for services by the departments referrals sources for people of working age, as well as those nearing working age as defined by the right to obtain working papers.
  • Maintains a current and fluid knowledge of vocational evaluation standards and practices
  • Expertise in knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the NJ Law Against Discrimination in Employment
  • Thorough knowledge and ability to apply accommodations and adaptive techniques to assist with people with disabilities while preparing them for work or return to work.

Knowledge, Education and Skills Preferred:

  • Two years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the local business community. Important to possess the ability to develop skills to engage in collaborative relationships that benefit the program.

Preferred Certification/Licensing:

  • NJ Licensed Rehabilitation Counselor
