Greater Brazos Valley Builders Association (GBVBA) is a non-profit professional trade association of 300+ members formed in 1967. Located in College Station, Texas, GBVBA promotes and protects the building industry in an eight-county area between Houston and Austin, Texas. GBVBA is dedicated to promoting, protecting, and advocating on behalf of their members for a free- market economy where the building industry and communities can thrive.
The Executive Officer serves as the chief administrative officer, recommends, and participates in the formulation of new policies and makes decisions within the bounds of existing policies. In addition, the Executive Officer plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates the staff, programs, and activities to ensure the association's goals and objectives are met. The Executive Officer has the overall responsibility to carry out the mission and goals of the GBVBA and the Board of Directors' strategic plan. Collaborates with the Texas Association of Builders and National Association of Home Builders to ensure that the Federation's goals and objectives are communicated, and local affiliate representation is in place.
- Bachelor's degree preferred, but work experience may be substituted. Association Management certifications are a plus.
- Proficient in basic offices systems, computer applications, office software packages and cellular applications. Social media communication experience is helpful.
- Excellent leadership, public speaking, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong skills in budget and financial management.
- Business acumen and event management experience.
