- Med Surg RN (this is an MS/Tele unit, but the Tele Tech's are separate)
- Please limit holiday RTO.
- Some weekends/Holidays required

- 27 bed medical and surgical combined. General surgery and orthopedics, CHF, diabetes, general illness, sepsis
- 27 beds on the floor
- 5 patient assignment
- Self scheduling model for the most part, every other weekend, schedule is 4 weeks
- Job Requirements
- Required Certs: BLS, ACLS (AHA only)
- Required to be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of NC
- Required Skills: IV Start
- Schedule Information
- Orientation for travelers is typically 3 shifts: first shift is more house-wide and general hospital, then 2 shifts of working with a nurse on the unit
- Unit Specific Information
- Common patient populations/illnesses: General surgery and orthopedics, CHF, diabetes, general illness, sepsis
- Patient to nurse ratio: Usually 5 patient assignment
- Are there CNAs/techs on the floor? Usually staff with 3 aids and a unit secretary
- What to expect during orientation/how long usually? Orientation for travelers is typically 3 shifts
- What does your unit's scheduling look like? Self scheduling model for the most part, every other weekend, schedule is 4 weeks
- What is your charting system? Meditech
- How often do travelers float and to what units? Boosting up staffing for overflow unit. We have a float rotation and try to float by turn.
