Reporting to the President of the Embedded and Critical Power Group, the VP of Technical Product Management will lead, drive, and execute the overall product and technology roadmap for Flex's datacenter and utility business.  In addition, this role will provide support and governance to our engineering functions.  This role requires a deep understanding of power systems, energy management, and emerging technologies in the critical and embedded power sector.

You will bring experience to define complex new technologies and applications in conjunction with product marketing teams and position Flex as a technology leader.  This position operates in a matrix organization.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Serve as a key member of the management team that sets the strategic direction for the Critical and Embedded Power BU's technology development and thought leadership.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging trends and technologies in the sector that can enhance product offerings and operational efficiency.
  • Develop strategic planning for the direction and control of product development activities in line with BU objectives.
  • Formulate long-term objectives and standards of performance for the department.
  • Assure that department achieves objectives and project completion within budget and time frame.
  • Be a student of current industry trends, ensuring that the company maintains and expands its technology leadership position.
  • Motivate staff and provide technical direction and guidance, as well as hands-on project management, recognizing the role as that of both manager and support resource/mentor.
  • Assure that product is designed for specific needs, but with wider applications in mind.
  • Hire and direct staff of senior group members to acquire necessary resources to meet scheduled commitments.
  • Ensure implementation and refinement as required of formal process to support the product development process.
  • Ensure that product development is focused on meeting and exceeding the customer requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technology spokesperson for the Critical and Embedded Power segment, engaging with customers, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to communicate the value of technology solutions to customers.
  • Ensure the effective management of technology resources, budgets, and timelines

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Engineering or related discipline.  MBA is strongly preferred.  Typically requires 10+ years of manufacturing experience.  Typically requires at least 7 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Ability to identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks or elimination of non-value-added processes).
  • Requires strong innovation skills and creativity. 
  • Ability to influence and hold others accountable.
  • Strong strategic thinking and decision-making skills. 
  • Must understand P&L.

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate $218,400.00 USD - $300,300.00 USD Annual Job Category Design, Process & Technology Engineering
