Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a/an QE located in Flex Changsha.
Reporting to the QA Manager, the QE role involves below job responsibilities.
What a typical day looks like:
- Serve as cross-functional team member to support new product development, procurement, manufacturing and servicing processes representing Quality Engineering discipline.
- Participate on cross-functional teams to qualify and approve new processes or new products.
- Develop and drive measurable Quality improvements relating to products, processes and services.
- Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
- Prepare and coordinate required project quality related deliverables, such as, PPAP, PFMEA, control plan, capability studies, statistical analysis, inspection plans, quality records and workmanship standards.
- Manage the qualification of process controls, methods, and measurement systems.
- Monitor and report key field performance metrics related to product quality (Cpk, Ppk, MSA).
- Maintain and analyze internal quality metrics (FPY, RTY, TML), customer complain, customer returns and cost of poor quality (CAR, RMA, COPQ).
- Serves as the Quality lead and interface for products and customer contact window.
- Works closely with product management and customers to understand the customers' experience particularly with respect to quality issues.
- Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to evaluate current processes and process changes。
- Analyze scrap and rework data for significant issues.
- Identify unfavorable quality trends and lead improvements to reduce cost of quality, improve yield or customer satisfaction.
- Lead and perform Root Cause Analysis and problem resolution to improve and sustain product quality.
- Investigate escalated product complaints to root cause to ensure timely customer response and correction.
- Conduct investigation, bounding, documentation, review, approval and verify effectiveness of non-conformances, CAPAs and customer complaints.
- Proactively investigate, identify and implement best-in-class Quality practices.
- Lead or participate on continuous improvement or corrective action teams as assigned.
- Contribute and participate in the management oversight of the QMS. (Product, Process, System Audit)
- Manage the creation and revision of QMS documentation, training and periodic review.
- Conduct internal and external audits, in accordance to Quality System Regulations (QSR) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standards, assessments of Technical, Engineering, Operations, & Quality related areas.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Minimum of 3 years of Quality Engineering experience or Manufacturing Process Engineering experience within the automotive industry
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
- IATF 16949 auditor certifications.
- Expertise/experience in problem solving with quality tools such as: 6-sigma / 8D / CAPA / FMEA/ Control Plan/ 5WHY etc.
- Has knowledge of SMT manufacturing and assembly process, applications and process development in order to actively improve product quality.
