Job Summary: Under supervision, recruits program-specific families to verify eligibility for program services. Reviews, analyzes and processes applicable documents and prepares necessary data.
Specific job responsibilities relevant for this position include:
- Receives and makes phone inquiries regarding the status of student eligibility. Collects and verifies student selection documentation. Maintains student files for all supporting compliance documents. Tracks and maintains student eligibility in appropriate Student Management System.
- Excellent customer service skills, to include engaging in conversations with professionalism, integrity, sensitivity, compassion, and diligence.
- Refers families to other federal programs, as applicable, and tracks student participation in the programs. Collaborates with Program Records Technician and/or Program Director regarding the information for identification purposes.
- Maintains a ledger of pending referrals with a tracking system for paperwork requirements and deadlines. Assists in preparation of data and reports and provides the Program Records Technician and/or Program Coordinator with the information for identification purposes.
- Collaborates with Program Records Technician and/or Program Coordinator regarding the referral process and eligibility requirements.
- Performs general office duties for the Federal Programs Department and attends recruiter meetings.
- Collaborates with program staff to plan and facilitate education family activities to support student learning. Procures materials and supplies for events.
- Other duties as assigned. (Daily)
Knowledge: General knowledge of office practices, equipment, filing methods. Basic understanding of Federal Programs regulations and FERPA.
Skills (position requirements at entry): Must be able to utilize established methods of filing, gathering, and organizing data. Must have experience preparing reports and reviewing and interpreting program regulations and requirements. Must have communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interacting with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and receive work directions.
Training and Experience (position requirements at entry): Federal Programs recruiting experience preferred.
Licensing Requirements (position requirements at entry): A valid Alaskan Driver's License.
Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to life, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects,
including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
