We are searching for our new full-time Veterinary technician to support our Critical Care departments!
About the job:
- Fulltime positions open in swing and overnight shifts
- 4/10 schedule
- Triaging incoming patients
- Assist DVM with patient assessment, treatment and procedures
- Partner with the patient care team regarding treatment plans, client communication and nursing care concerns
- Provide client education including, but not limited to: home care instructions, medications (indications, adverse reactions) and general wellness updates on hospitalized patients
- Provide monitoring and nursing care to hospitalized patients
- Induce and monitor general anesthesia and sedation procedures
- Record and deliver organized rounds, discuss cases and gather additional information as necessary
- Perform in-house laboratory testing and prepare samples for outside laboratory testing
- Compensation Range: RVT: $25.00 - $40.00 hour SVA: $25.00 - $36.00
- $8,000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $6,000 Hiring Bonus for Veterinary Assistants (for full-time, new to SAGE hires) for overnight roles.
- $7000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $5000 Hiring bonus for veterinary assistants for swing shift roles.
- $6000 Hiring Bonus for Registered Veterinary Technicians and $4000 Hiring bonus for day shift roles.
- Shift differentials available! $3/hour swing shift, $5 overnight shift

- You are a Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Basic Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 1+ years of clinical experience as an RVT or 3 years of experience as Senior Vet Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interface with staff and clients using tact, patience, professional courtesy, and exhibit confidentiality and discretion where appropriate
- Consistent and reliable ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices and estimates, and other position-related calculations
- Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must obtain within 60-days of hire or transfer into this role; (this requirement is waived if incumbent holds a valid CA-RVT license)
