Shift: Days / 7a-7:30p, 12x4, 48 hrs per week, will consider 36'sLength: 13 weeks
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS. TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT
*** Call-Ins: If a traveler call-ins for a contracted shift, the traveler is expected to 1) make up the day during the pay period, if a 0.9 FTE. OR 2) if a 0.9 FTE and unable to make up during the pay period, then the shift will be added at the end of the traveler contract 3) If a 1.2 FTE, any call-in shifts will be added to the end of the contract
Requirements:
  • IN License
  • 2 years' experience
  • Skillset Preferences: Central line experience, post-op patient assessments, experience with drains (foleys, JP drains, NG tubes)
  • BLS
Other Details:
  • Local travelers with permanent residence within 50 miles

  • Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed

Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3x12

*** Charge coverage: Pending operational needs, unit charge nurse responsibilities may be needed with provided training and resources.
Certification Requirements: BCLS
Skillset Preferences: Central line experience, post-op patient assessments, experience with drains (foleys, JP drains, NG tubes)
Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) with resources provided if needed at both University and Methodist Hospitals
Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6 depending on staffing
Unit Information: 2North is a 15 bed, fast-paced Medical-Surgical unit that specializes in a variety of patient populations. These populations include: Gynecology-Oncology, Gynecology, Hematology/Oncology, Cystic Fibrosis, and Sickle Cell Anemia. Nurses will gain learning, experience, and skills with central lines, drains, physical assessments, and medication administration, including chemotherapy upon certification. 2North values align with the IU Health Values: Team, Compassion, Purpose, and Excellence.
