JOB OVERVIEW:

The Environmental Practice Leader will be responsible for maintaining an existing book of environmental engineers, consultants and contractors and developing new business in that segment, developing site-specific pollution liability revenue streams (e.g. brownfield redevelopment, asset transactions, etc.), building and maintaining strong relationships at a regional/national level with environmental insurers, and provide senior-level environmental client advisory services for Greyling's largest engineering clients.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

A detailed list of job duties includes (but is not limited to):

  • Retention and growth of an existing environmental services book of revenue.
  • Contribute to new business growth goals – individually and as part of Greyling production teams.
  • Support existing client relationship management and retention strategies by providing senior-level client advisory, environmental industry expertise, and related non-insurance risk management to environmental services, engineering and construction clients.
  • Advise broking teams on key Contractors Pollution Liability/Professional Liability insurance coverage details for environmental, engineering and construction clients, negotating coverage both at the Company and Client level where needed.
  • Develop site-specific pollution liability opportunity flow through existing engineering and construction clients as well as a strategic and continuous Center of Influence campaign.
  • Maintain and enhance environmental insurer relationships.
  • Develop and deliver client-specific risk management training as well as industry-specific seminar topics aligned with ACEC and other broad marketing efforts.
  • Support client due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
  • Support development and pursuit of new business using technical expertise to demonstrate depth of Greyling industry expertise and resources as a differentiator and competitive advantage.
  • Recruit, motivate, mentor, and manage colleagues to develop the next generation of Greyling leaders.
  • Help develop basic and broad environmental expertise across Greyling's staff and resource platform.
  • Communicate throughout Greyling best-practices and knowledge transfer (operational/contract risk management, coverage, market conditions, E&O avoidance).

 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Comprehensive understanding of environmental engineering, consulting and contracting industries. Expertise in the environmental risks associated with brownfield transactions/redevelopment, real estate, construction, mergers and acquisitions and asset transactions preferred.
  • In-depth expertise in Contractors Pollution Liability/Professional Liability and site-specific pollution liability insurance products and markets.
  • Detailed expertise in core casualty insurance – coverage, structure, placement, coordination with CPL/PL.
  • Substantial non-insurance environmental expertise, including:
    • Contract risk management (indemnification, standard of care, limitation of liability, etc.)
    • Contract negotiation support
    • Subcontractor/sub-engineer risk management
    • Environmental engineering/consulting, and environmental contracting (soil, groundwater, sediment, asbestos/lead/mold) operational risk management
    • Waste transportation and disposal risk management
  • Superior client relationship management skills
  • Superior organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • Client focus with extraordinary commitment to exceeding client expectations

Preferred Credentials and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 15+ years of insurance industry, with minimum of 5+ years specifically serving environmental engineers, consultants, contractors.
  • Minimum of 5 years in capacity as Producer or Client Executive, Client Advisor, Broker specializing in environmental risk management and insurance
  • Holds appropriate Broker's License(s), Surplus Lines Licensed Preferred

COMPENSATION: 

The national average salary (change "salary" to "hourly rate" for all non-exempt roles) for this role is $200 000.00 - $250 000.00 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. The base pay offered will be determined based on your experience, skills, training, certifications and education, while also considering internal equity and market data.
