Job Summary:
Lead Outpatient Transportation Driver (LOTD) transfer non-emergency patients to and from health or social care settings, including hospitals, for pre-arranged appointments. They are sometimes known as Patient Transport Service (PTS) drivers. The Lead Outpatient Transportation will have the responsibility to scheduling/arranging transportation and monitoring the Outpatient Transport Drivers for attendance, scheduling, and performance issues.

Job Essentials: The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements and competencies.

  • Ability to read maps and knowledge of the use of a GPS system.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to monitor employee performances.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Excellent driving skills and a minimum of one and two years' experience of driving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be empathic and have the ability to reassure anxious or worried patients.

  • Must have physical and emotional stamina.
  • A genuine desire to help and care for people.
