This role provides analytical support to the entire Dollar General supply chain to drive optimization within inventory management, transportation, and distribution networks. It is responsible for building descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models to drive impact considering the end-to-end supply chain in addition to traditional reporting and ad-hoc analysis. This individual is expected to lead complex analysis, clearly summarize findings, and present recommendations to business partners and leadership.

Job Details:
  • Ensure a high degree of data quality and reporting accuracy, including implementing standardsand processes such as data audits and reports and dashboards validation 20%
  • Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of descriptive, predictive, andcprescriptive models to meet analytical objectives for supply Chain 40%
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support key supply chain initiatives and driveccontinuous improvement 20%
  • Create clear and concise communication of findings of data analysis to enable organization to use the results to make key business decisions 10%
  • Partner with supply chain, store operations, merchandising, and other department leadership in the development and deployment of process improvement initiatives. Works with IT, finance and other support functions to remove constraints, justify investments, and implement solutions that improve service and reduce expense.
  • Programming experience, ideally with querying tools (e.g. SQL), data analysis tools (e.g. Python, R), and data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Ability to take complex analytics and be able to simplify and clearly communicate findings to leadership and other non-technical colleagues
  • Ability to lead projects with hands-on analysis and modeling, drawing from multitude of analytical methods
  • Design and execute appropriate analyses to size potential impact of problems or solutions
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required with emphasis in Computer Science, Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Information Science, Business Intelligence, or related field. Minimum of 3 years' experience in analytics or related data analytics field Experience designing, developing and implementing descriptive, predictive, and descriptive analytical models
