Job Description:

The Surgical Education Office in the University of Florida Department of Surgery is seeking a part-time (20 hours per week) student assistant to support educational activities in the department. Health Education/Behavior and Health Administration student are encouraged to apply.

Duties will include:

Providing administrative support to the Assistant Director of Surgical Education and Program Administrators.

Assisting with conference and lab schedules.

Assisting with annual and semi-annual reporting, as needed.

Administrative tasks - answering and directing phone calls, retrieving and delivering mail and packages, editing and creating documents, scanning/copying/faxing documents, creating reports.

Assisting with surgical resident curriculum and simulation labs.

Customer Service - helping residents and medical students as needed, answering the phone, responding to emails.

Assist the Surgery Program Coordinators and Assistant Director of Education with additional projects as needed.

Expected Salary:

$13.00 - $15.00

Minimum Requirements:

Registered at least half-time and eligible to work on campus

At least 2 years of college complete

Ability to maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average throughout employment

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Experience working in an office or hospital setting

Professional demeanor

Comfortable working with laboratory materials, to include biological samples (No live animals)

Knowledge of University of Florida rules, regulations, and policies regarding research
