We are currently seeking a*Staff Nurse*to join ourBurn Unit.
This position is a*0.8 FTE (8 shifts/ pay period), 8-hour shifts, Nights, Every Other Weekend**.*
The inpatient Burn Center is a 17 bed unit that has received verification as a Burn Center from the American Burn Association. A multidisciplinary team approach is used by the Burn Center to provide intensive, acute, and rehabilitative care to all age groups that present with thermal injuries, complex wounds, plastic surgery, and skin disorders of varying severity.
*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
Within the context of the Hennepin Healthcare System Patient and Family Centered Care model, and under general supervision, the registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by:
* Protecting, promoting, and optimizing health
* Preventing illness and injury
* Alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response
* Partnering with the patient, their family and significant others
* Documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care
*QUALIFICATIONS:*
Minimum Qualifications:
* Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
* Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications:
* *Burn and Wound experience***
* *Must be telemetry competent within 6 months of hire into role***
* Certification in area of clinical specialty
* BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
