Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Program Specialist, Trauma - Per Diem. In this role, the successful candidate This position will be responsible for advising on the oversight and management of the adult and pediatric trauma programs. Advises on the management of the Injury Prevention Program and Trauma Registry; advises on the involvement with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) in regards with Process Improvement and policy development; and trauma education for physicians, nurses and Emergency Management System. This position would advise on overseeing the trauma quality care and efficient coordination from pre-hospital to discharge and /or rehabilitation, and collaborate across campuses. As each site prepares for and maintains the Hospital s trauma designation by The American College of Surgeons (ACS) and New York State Department of Health, be able to assess readiness, advise, and consult accordingly, as agreed to by leadership at each campus.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Assesses and evaluate the hospital's clinical protocols and practice management guidelines.
    • Provide education and training to facility staff.
    • Recommend performance improvement and quality enhancement measures for the execution of trauma services and systems.
    • Educate NYU staff to ensure understanding and support for the trauma center's initiatives.
    • Evaluate trends in NYU's trauma registry and make recommendations for business improvement.
    • Undertake other projectsas necessary for NYU's successful ACS verification and re-designation.
