Work Labor & Delivery, post partum, the nursery, Med-Surg
Equipment utilized in the unit/dept.
EPIC charting, Omnicell, Philips monitors, fetal monitors, panda warmers, giraffe, hearing screener, plum IV pumps with smart library
Required skills and minimum years of experience.
2 years of experience of L&D, couplet care, antepartum, postpartum
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.
fetal monitoring, ACLS, NRP, BLS - all required. MN state RN license.
Shift or schedule requirements.
Generally 12 hour day or night shifts, could be occasional 8 hour shifts. Weekend obligation is 2 weekends in a 6 week schedule. We would be interested in nurses willing to work extra weekends. Call is not required. An OB nurse would not work alone
Floating to other units/departments.
Med-Surg; If travel nurse has ICU or Emergency Department skills, we would utilize those skills as well
Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.
We are a 25 bed critical access hospital. We care for ICU, OB and Med-Surg patients. We deliver approximately 300 babies per year
Nurse to patient ratio of this unit.
For Labor & Delivery, we follow AWHONN staffing guidelines; Med-Surg assignment, ratio is 1 nurse 3-5 patients
Dress Code:
Navy blue scrubs, pale palette for shirts under scrubs
