Position Responsibilities:
Conduct patient interviews and determines their prenatal status and needs.
Assist with the rooming of patients returning for prenatal care visits.
Provide patient with discharge instructions and return appointments.
Schedule inductions with labor and delivery, arrange continued prenatal care with the High-Risk OB Clinic, schedule ultrasounds and non-stress test, etc. as per provider's orders.
Make referrals to other medical providers and community resources.
Obtain vital signs, height, weight, and BMI measurements.
Provide or coordinate prenatal health education as appropriate.
Administer screening test such as urine dipstick, TB Skin test, Glucola, etc.
Administer medications as ordered by provider or via standing orders.
Give instruction to patients for special procedures such as Genetic testing Screens, Glucola Screenings, Sickle Cell Test, Ultrasound, Non-Stress Test, etc. instructions.
Serve as a liaison between the patient, Foreign Language Interpreter, Maternity Care Coordinator, medical providers, hospital staff, Nutritionist, Substance Abuse Counselor, HIV Counselor, Health Educator, etc.
Monitor all documentation that may include screenings, referrals, services provided, patient education, instructions, etc. according to agency guidelines and the Maternal Health Contract Addenda
Other MH Clinic duties as assigned.
Contract Details:
13 week contract (high likely for extension)
40hrs a week
8a-5p | Monday - Friday | No wknds or holidays!
