Description

General job duties. Types of procedures required.

Professional caregiver responsible and accountable for his/her practice for assigned patient(s). Utilizing the nursing process, the RN delivers superb health care in a compassionate manner, is committed to excellence and empowered to streamline and improve operations.

Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.)

Ventilators, IV pumps, Level 1 Rapid fluid infuser.

Use Epic as EMR

Required skills and minimum years of experience.

2 years minimum critical care experience, post TEA, Triple A and general surgery patient management, experience with long term ventilated patients, experience with swan ganz catheters, and vasoactive medication titration.

Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required.

Oregon license. BLS and ACLS required. Trauma certification if they want to care for trauma patients.

Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?)

We require every other weekends. Call is not required, unless the employee is put on mandatory stand by due to low census for their regularly scheduled shift. They will never work alone.

Floating to over units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?)

RN Union Contract states traveler or agency nurses float prior to regulalry employed staff. Traveler RN may float to any floor. Usually first to other critical care units. If they float to med-surg, they may take up to 3 patients. They may take more if they desire, but are not required to do so.

Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept.

ICU has 15 beds

IMCU has 11 beds

Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only)

ICU 1:2

IMCU is 1:3

Dress Code:

Standard scrub top and bottoms - any colors. No artificial unnatural hair colors. No visible tattoos or facial peircings.

24 hours critical care orientation ICU, IMCU and CCU
