Insight global is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist for a healthcare client in Bismarck, North Dakota. The CDI Specialist is responsible for reviewing medical records to ensure accurate physician documentation, supporting the appropriate severity of illness, risk of mortality, and complexity of care. They conduct initial and follow-up reviews of patient records, formulate physician queries, and collaborate with case managers and nursing staff. The role involves staying current with coding guidelines and participating in professional development activities. Additionally, the specialist assists in training new department staff and communicates CDI activities and coding issues for resolution. The position requires advanced knowledge of Medicare, disease pathophysiology, and MS-DRG classification.

Skills and Requirements

- Active State Registered Nursing License

- 2 Years of nursing experience

- Knowledge of medical coding guidelines - Acute Care Nursing Experience

- CDIP or CCDS Certification null
