**Job Summary**

The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center in the Emergency Medicine Department is one of nine nationally CDC-funded Injury Control Research Centers that conducts, translates, and accelerates injury prevention research into practice and policy to reduce the burden of injuries across the Great Lakes and the US.

The University of Michigan Injury Prevention Center (UMIPC) is excited to post a position for a team member to support our UM IPC Research Core activities. This position will support multiple faculty members in completing their research studies. One unique opportunity of this position is coordinating study activities within the Ivy League-Big Ten Epidemiology of Concussion Study. This position is integrated into the project teams and helps to facilitate connections between collaborators and groups.

The role will be a part of a collaborative team that coordinates research operations across multiple studies and sites. These responsibilities will vary from study to study and may include leading research group meetings with participating faculty, trainees, and study sites; onboarding new sites to studies that include multiple institutions; developing and updating study IRB protocols; writing project reports; organizing timelines to meet project deliverables; supporting the coordinating grant submission activities; and additional day-to-day operations as needed.

**Responsibilities***

Ensure alignment of research projects with the overall mission and vision of the UMIPC.

Monitor the progress of multiple research projects and ensure timely completion.

Supervise, mentor, and support research staff, including coordinators, assistants, and interns.

Conduct regular team meetings to discuss project progress, challenges, and solutions.

Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of research studies and data management.

Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans.

Adhere to research protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements, including internal IRB protocols, reliance agreements, and data use agreements (DUA).

Oversee data collection, management, and analysis activities.

Prepare and present research findings through reports, presentations, and publications.

Communicate project updates and results to internal and external stakeholders.

Ensure transparency and accountability in all aspects of the research program.

Coordinate research activities at the center of a multi-site research study.

Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.

Oversee data collection, management, and analysis activities.

**Required Qualifications***

Bachelor's degree with 4-5 years of experience in a social science discipline is preferred.

Experience working with Microsoft Office products

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ideal candidates will have superior organizational skills, the capacity to handle multiple tasks, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate the activities of staff and trainees.

Ability to work in a diverse multi-disciplinary environment needed. Ideal applicants will demonstrate strong leadership and professional skills.

Familiarity with data management and statistical analysis software (e. g., SPSS, STATA, SAS, R) is a plus

**Background Screening**

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.
