**Summary:**

Work closely with Perioperative Leadership to coordinate, monitor, and implement programs and initiatives to improve the perioperative patient experience.

**Responsibilities:**

Works collaboratively with perioperative leadership team, to evaluate care given to the Perioperative patient.

Participates in specific projects and evidence -based strategies designed to enhance the effectiveness of the care provided in the Perioperative setting.

Communicates the mission, vision and goals of HUP Nursing Service in all interactions with nursing personnel and other disciplines/departments.

Identifies and communicate educational needs of the staff. Coordinates and develops didactic training for Gateway nursing staff, surgical techs, and ongoing education for periop nursing staff. Evaluates outcomes.

Assist with design, delivers and evaluates educational programming to support quality, safety and nursing practice initiatives

Uses interpersonal skills to affect learning and practice changes.

Facilitates the professional developments of others through education, communication, consultation and role-modeling.

Maintains confidentiality of patient and organization information as required.

Works closely with Nurse Manager of Quality and Safety to development and evaluation tools for data collection and evaluation of data.

Assist with coordination of quality assessment and improvement initiatives within the Perioperative department

Integrates professional standards and evidence-based practice in development and evaluation of quality initiatives.

Provided nursing performance data reports and provides reports to initiate change in practice

Serves as a resource to staff.

Audit of patient satisfaction report. Communicate significant changes in data.

Communication of issues related to patient care in a timely manner.

Perioperative Nursing dashboards

Assists with staff training related to safety /quality initiatives

Active member of perioperative nursing practice committee

Optime Superuser

Works collaboratively with Periop leaders and educators to provide interdisciplinary training for Periop staff.

Encourages advancement and certification for Registered Nurses and Surgical Technicians/Technologists

Monitor and evaluate chart compliance data - Incident report follow-up and trending

Expertise of current AORN standards and recommendations and acts as a resource to Periop staff.

Collect and submit dashboard data in a timely manner

Oversees Periop Hand Hygiene Champions , data collection and monthly dissemination of information.

**Education or Equivalent Experience:**

Graduate of an NLN approved school of professional nursing.

Licensed to practice professional nursing in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with a Masters degree in Nursing required.

Certification CNOR required.
