Deadline Aug 23, 2024 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time DescriptionStony Brook University School of Dental Medicine invites applications for a full-time clinical track faculty position as an Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.
The position will service as Director of Predoctoral Education in Pediatric Dentistry and will be involved in the Department's clinical, academic, research, and administrative activities at both predoctoral and postdoctoral levels. Candidates should demonstrate clear potential for academic growth with teaching, clinical practice, and research, and possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a desire to create an environment that promotes collegiality, collaboration, and cultural diversity among the members of various education, research, and service communities. A willingness to serve as a role model and advocate for the ideals of professionalism and high ethical standards in a health science educational setting is essential.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
A DDS/DMD degree (or foreign equivalent) from a CODA-accredited dental school is required. The successful candidate must have qualifications sufficient for a dental or teaching licensure in New York State. A certificate from a CODA-accredited advanced education program in pediatric dentistry is required. The certificate must be available no later than the commencement date of employment in the position described herein.
Preferred Qualifications:
The applicant be Board eligible by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry (ABPD) or have Board certification from the ABPD. Advanced degree(s) (PhD, MS or similar; or foreign equivalent). Previous clinical and teaching experiences within the last 5-10 years.
