The Director of Nursing (DON) at our home health agency is responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes. As a key leadership position, the DON ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. They manage and train nursing staff, coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create and implement patient care plans, and monitor patient progress. The DON also plays a crucial role in maintaining patient safety, managing budgets, and improving care standards across the agency. Additionally, the DON collaborates closely with the administrator to drive optimal health outcomes.

Duties of the Director of Nursing Services include, but may not be limited to:

Identifies and evaluates the potential needs and resources in relation to community health and the Agency policies and programs.

Assists in the development of the policies, programs and functions for the Agency as they relate to clinical services.

Participates in the review, analysis and appraisal of effectiveness of the total Agency program

Responsible to ensure orientation of all new staff is carried out prior to first case assignment.

Defines, allocates and supervises responsibilities within the province of nursing.

Defines and prepares job classifications and job descriptions for clinical personnel.

Recruits and maintains R. N. (s), home health aides and other clinical staff as needed, as additional positions arise or as vacancies occur in order to maintain sufficient qualified staff to safely and efficiently perform clinical functions.

Oversees all PI/OBQI/OBQM Activities.

Provides for continuing evaluation of the nursing staff by: Evaluating job performance and utilizing available help in planning for professional growth. Evaluating the performance of other individuals in the division in relation to established standards and the individual's professional development. Evaluating total nursing services in relation to Agency goals.

Participates in periodic meetings with the administrator and/or Medical Director to ensure optimum communication interdepartmentally and to discuss any mutual or Agency problems.

Reviews all logs, including but not limited to Infection Control, Patient Complaints, Incident Reports on at least a quarterly basis, investigates problems/potential problems noted; offers recommendations for resolution/change.

Responsible for conferring with the Administrator in the scheduling of monthly educational programs or for providing staff with information regarding educational opportunities within the community.

Ensures completion of all Supervisory visits, competency assessments and performance evaluations at end of probationary period and at least annually thereafter, more frequently, if needed.

Responsible for ensuring the scheduling of case conferences and team conferences are properly and periodically conducted.

Allocate and supervise vacation and holiday time.

Maintains and updates Disaster Plan. Keeps current Hurricane Disaster Plan List.

Complies with HIPPA policies and procedures.

Reports suspected privacy breaches to Privacy Official.

Ensures availability of up to date clinical resources, information, periodicals and other information.

Other duties as requested/qualified by supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree

6 or more years of technical

3 or more years of management experience

Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida

This role is considered patient facing and is part of Humana's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB.

This role is part of Humana's Driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and proof of personal vehicle liability insurance with at least 100,000/300,000/100,000 limits.

Computer proficiency with knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook

Experience with electronic health record documentation

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in disease management and wellness programs

Previous Medicare/Medicaid Experience a plus

Knowledge or experience with a patient centered medical home model

Experience with EMR System: Kinnser/Wellsky

Bilingual: English, Spanish and other languages

**Pay Range**

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$84,600 - $116,300 per year
