JOB SUMMARY:

- Oversees and manages daily and strategic operations of multiple clinical departments within the Nursing Services division at Emory Healthcare.

- Plans, directs, manages, coordinates, and monitors activities of Nursing Support Services and Departments including:

o Vascular Access Department

o Centralized Admission Team

o Wound Ostomy and Continence Department

o Administrative Nursing Supervisor Team

- Provides onsite administrative support for the E-Bed and ANSOS electronic systems.

- Serves as nursing lead and coordinator for ongoing regulatory readiness including policy, procedure, and process dissemination.

- Collaborates with nursing teams and physicians to develop techniques and practices to improve health care service flow using reengineering and workflow analyses.

- Ensures departments operate within budget and adhere to performance standards.

- Develops and implements strategic goals and objectives to maintain high-quality patient care services.

- Accountable for quality and service outcomes within the Nursing Support Services departments to achieve high-quality staff, operations, and clinical performance.

- Manages relationships with executives, physicians, unit directors, leadership within the hospital/system, and staff to achieve best-in-practice performance and business results.

- Works with administrators and senior management to determine needs for capital equipment, medical supplies, personnel, and other fiscal requirements.

- Prepares budget recommendations; monitors and verifies expenditures.

- Manages staff and employee performance including:

o Resolving HR-related issues

o Determining staffing needs (clinical, clerical, and administrative)

o Interviewing and hiring staff

o Providing ongoing performance feedback, addressing problems, and verifying competency

o Identifying and suggesting ways to develop skills

o Determining disciplinary and termination actions

- Works with reporting teams to formulate plans for professional development.

- Attends educational in-services as appropriate.

- Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Must have)

- Master's degree in business administration, management, health administration, or a related field.

- Six (6) years of management experience in hospitals.
