RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Functions as a working clinical operations manager:
o Manages and supervises the day-to-day operations, administration, coordination and integration of services, programs, and activities of Rehab Services.
o Performs duties of a Therapist: Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech Language Pathologist. Carries a caseload of patients specific to discipline and operational requirements.
- Oversees and monitors programs, services and activities to ensure consistency with strategic plans, and goals and objectives of the Medical Center.
- Ensures operations and functions are in compliance with regulatory requirements and the policies and procedures of the Medical Center.
- Serves as the manager of the department/unit in the absence of the Manager as assigned.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Essential: standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing stairs, walking on uneven ground, squatting, twisting body, finger dexterity, seeing, hearing, speaking, lifting maximum weight of 50 pounds, pushing/pulling maximum weight of 50 pounds of force, carrying usual weight of 20 pounds, reaching above/at/below shoulders, repetitive arm/hand motions, static gripping of an object for prolonged periods, frequent gripping of an object.
- Operates devices, equipment, instruments, tools, etc. related to professional discipline. Operates business/hospital related machines and systems.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids; works with electrical/mechanical units.
- Work environment is fast paced and sometimes stressful due to variable workload.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- Current Hawaii license as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist.
- Current BLS/HCP certification.
- Master's degree preferred in healthcare or related field preferred.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years clinical experience as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist in a critical care setting, preferably in a comparable facility.
- One (1) year supervisory or leadership experience (e. g. responsibility for major project(s).
